Kristina & Cory // Charleston, IL Engagement Photography

What a perfect day for an engagement shoot, around 80 degrees, very slight breeze and lots of sunlight, can it get any better for a happy setting? I declare that it cannot. 🙂 I know I sound like a broken record here, but time just continues to amaze me because of how fast it goes by. It seems like just yesterday I was sitting down with Kristina to go over wedding collections, I think it was back in February! And here we are, half a year away from the wedding, and I know time will seem to just slip by even faster. For a short moment though, we were able to freeze time and capture some amazing engagement pictures of the two of them. Kristina told me from the start that I would have to work with her and Cory for their pictures because they aren’t really the posing type, and this is a very common statement with a lot of engaged couples. And that’s totally fine, because here’s a little secret, I’m not really the posing type either? 🙂 Don’t get me wrong the two of you dancing in middle of the street wasn’t some candid moment, it was of course posed, but I’m talking about the studio posed stuff, you know what I mean. No thank you, not for me.

A lot of times I tell couples to act like they are on a date, and to just ignore me, and some of the best pictures come from these. In Kristina and Cory’s case I had them just sitting together, and I didn’t like the look of them just looking at me, it looked too posed for my liking, so I had Cory tell Kristina a secret, I have no idea what he said, in fact he could have been talking about me because they started laughing… I’m not complaining though because we got some amazing pictures from it and they have this special feel to them. It was also great going back to a location I’ve not been to since early 2010 when I did Travis and Kara’s engagement session. And even though it was so long ago, we drove by a lot of the same locations and it was like I could relive that amazing shoot.

Kristina and Cory were so much fun to work with though. They were willing to try anything to get a great picture, and they seemed very relaxed and this allowed for some amazing, and special photos of the two of them. I look SO forward to their wedding next March, and I know it’s going to be hear in a blink of an eye, so I won’t postpone any longer; here are the pictures! 🙂
