After a week of warm beautiful weather, Saturday turned out completely different. After the storms came through on Friday, the brought with them apparently an extremely cold cold-front… and lots of wind. Jump to Saturday morning and I met with Matt and Maria at starbucks so we could get a little joe to warm us up a bit and then headed outside into the cold. I’m not going to lie, I didn’t know how it would work with it being as cold as it was and as windy, so during our first location we were in quite the wind tunnel downtown Effingham. The location was just perfect for them and what they were wearing. So I told Matt to just keep Maria warm, and these pictures (I swear) are some of the best of a couple. Not because of the angle, the composition, the edit, or anything on my end, but because you truly see the love in these two. I LOVE it. So much so I think I would prefer to photograph engagement sessions on cold windy days from now on. 🙂
These two were just the best though. Willing to brave the cold and the wind and keep genuine smiles on their faces. We captured SO many locations, and took just about as many pictures as I do at a small wedding! I truly enjoyed working with Matt and Maria. The love that they have for each other and their fun personalities not only made for some AMAZING engagement pictures, but I know it will make for a great wedding day and I can’t wait for July to arrive when these two become one. Congratulations Matt and Maria – you two are amazing!
